The cold weather is creeping upon us more and more, and winter is just around the corner (as is Christmas!). I may be jetting off to Tenerife in just over a week to catch myself some winter sun, but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate a cosy night in knowing it’s cold outside. In fact, since coming across Falegnameria Bariza, woodworking specialists from Cortina d’Ampezzo (Italy), I’ve been scrolling through their images and imagining spending a cold winter’s night tucked up a wooden house.

Just imagine spending a snowy Christmas week inside a chalet that looks like these pictures. I’d have an array of books sat on a shelf patiently waiting for me to snuggle on the sofa and flip through their pages. An abundance of hot chocolate powder would be stocked up in the cupboard to be used each and every night, and it would of course be topped off with a mountain of squirty cream. Next to my bed would sit a drawer full of woolly socks ready to keep my tootsies warm, and I’d accompany them with some cute Christmas clothes.

Oh, and the smell. Imagine how good a wooden home would smell. Mmm.

I’d spend my days watching the world go by through the windows, whilst my afternoons would see me in the beautiful kitchens whipping up a warm bolognese ready for dinner. Naturally, I’d finish off my night with some scented candles around the bath and some Christmas scented bath bombs to really get me feeling festive.

And so now I am dreaming of a lottery win so that I can have my very own little wooden chalet built somewhere hidden amongst the trees where I can run away and read books by the fire, relax by candlelight in the bath and get my head down for some well earned rest… Ah, a girl can dream.
