Reality television is a bit like marmite – you either love it, or hate it. For me, I can’t get enough of it. There’s nothing worse than having no Saturday night TV in between reality series finishing and starting. What am I supposed to watch whilst I munch on my takeaway and gobble some sweeties?! I’ve slipped in and out of pretty much every reality series out there, but there are eight in particular I watch every year without fail…
The Apprentice
I do hope that the theme tune to The Apprentice is now running through your head. Because it is mine. Every year Lord Sugar comes up with some pretty excellent tasks for some (apparently) intelligent candidates, and we just get to sit back and watch the drama unfold as they fight for a partnership. And there’s always that one guy that is just a complete dick, and so provides great entertinment when he gets shot down in the boardroom.
Big Brother
Biggest Loser
Whilst I never got into the British version of The Biggest Loser, I’ve watched every episode of the original American series, and it remains one of my favourite TV shows without a doubt. Watching the contestants go though their journey can get pretty emotional (yes, I cry quite a lot whilst watching it) and is pretty darn motivating. If you’ve never watched them before, get online and find an old season. You’ll soon be hooked!
Britain’s Got Talent
After throwing a bunch of regular strangers into a house together, Big Brother naturally had to follow this with a celebrity version of the show, and it’s just as outrageous, if not more so! Granted, I don’t recognise half the celebs that go in there, but I love seeing how my opinions change of the ones I do.
Love Island
The Voice is making a move over to ITV for its next series and I can’t wait to see how it might change. I’m just praying they keep will.i.am. They have to, right? He’s, like, amazing. Please keep him on my TV!The X-Factor

So there you have it. Eight reality TV shows I can’t help but watch every single year. What’s even better is I’ll soon be watching them on my very own TV from my very own sofa in my first house with my boyfriend. We’ve been eyeing up this Panasonic UHD 4K TV and it really is a dream television. Time to start putting pennies in the piggy bank!

I'm guilty of CBB, BB, The X-Factor and Britain's Got Talent! They're just so good, even when they're not so good! Great post Ashton! xo

Thanks Whitney! Yup, I totally agree haha. Even if the series is absolute garbage one year, I can't help but still watch it. 😉 xx

I really can't get into most reality tv shows, to be honest. But I always watch BGT, The Apprentice and Dragons Den! Love those three. x http://www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x
Ooh yeah, I really like Dragons Den too but that's more of something I catch when it happens to be on rather than watching it religiously. 😉 xx

Ahh so relatable! Every year I'm addicted to The Apprentice (I once saw one of the candidates in IKEA and had to stop myself from asking for a signature because I realised they were really not famous and I'd look so uncool) and I have so many Saturday night X Factor memories as it started when I was only 4 or 5 years old. My ultimate guilty (and slightly antifem?) pleasure is Take me out though, I can't help myself Xx Great post
