Yorkshire born and bred and a self-confessed serial dater – I definitely know a few Yorkshire dating spots for food, fresh air and pints!
This post was sponsored by Yorkshire Dating Site, but all words are my own!
I’m a Yorkshire girl through and through. I’ve lived here since birth, have always been fond of the place, and don’t ever plan on leaving… at least not forever anyway. I’ll definitely catch the odd flight to somewhere warm when Covid decides to make a retreat, but I’ll always return home.
I’m also well-practiced in the art of dating. I’ve been on so many dates that I can’t keep count, and I’m still on the hunt for Prince Charming. So, needless to say, I know a fair few Yorkshire dating spots that make a great place for a first date. Or indeed a second, or a third.
Here are five of them that might take your fancy…

Hull’s Ale Trail
Perfect for: those who love a tipple
If you love a traditional boozer, the Ale Trail makes a perfect day sesh or night out with a date. Download a map and take a stroll around the historic pubs in the town centre; you’ll come across England’s smallest window, Hull’s oldest pub, and the pub in which the civil war was allegedly triggered. Naturally, it’s compulsory to have a pint at each stop!

Yorkshire Wildlife Park
Perfect for: animal lovers
Nestled near Doncaster and boasting over 400 animals, a number of exciting feeding shows, and a range of restaurants and picnic areas, Yorkshire Wildlife Park makes for a perfect day date, especially when the weather is nice. While meandering around the park, you’re guaranteed to fall in love with the majestic giraffes, adorable meerkats and regal lions. Falling in love with your date is not guaranteed, but a bonus.

A spot of brunch
Perfect for: foodies
Ah, brunch. Definitely my favourite meal of the day. (Even more so when it’s accompanied by mimosas.) And I’m lucky enough to live in a city booming with amazing independent cafes to choose from; Instagram-worthy poached eggs on toast from Thieving Harry’s, a vegetarian breakfast with a backdrop of plants at Zoo Cafe, a trusty bacon butty from Urban 44 – the list goes on.

Watch the world go by on Hull Marina
Perfect for: a spot of people-watching
You know you’re onto a good thing with someone you’re dating when you’re comfortable enough with each other to just stop and do nothing but watch the world go by. And Hull marina offers a perfect – albeit windy – spot to do just that in the heart of the city. Grab a coffee from Humber Street and find a spot to watch people come and go – running errands, honing their skateboarding skills, indulging in some good food, and maybe even on a date of their own!

Take a stroll around Danes Dyke
Perfect for: a bit of fresh air
Danes Dyke has long been one of my favourite places to visit, and you’ll often see it plastered all over my Instagram stories. Offering a perfect blend of craggy cliffs, rolling fields, enchanting forest and what appears to be an endless beach, you’ll never fail to find a beautiful route within this reserve. Just be warned – some of the stairs and cliffs are bound to get your heart racing… let’s just hope your date does too!
Of course, some of the above isn’t quite possible under current circumstances, so please be wise and stay safe! Kick things off with the windy marina walk or the charming trip to Danes Dyke while tier restrictions apply. As things begin to ease, that’s when you can start introducing the brunch and pubs – perfect!
