My Services

So Alice began telling them her adventures from the time when she first saw the White Rabbit. She was a little nervous about it just at first, but she gained courage as she went on.

My Services

What I Offer

Courses

‘Come, there’s no use in crying like that!’ said Alice to herself, rather sharply; ‘I advise you to leave off this minute!’ She generally gave herself very good advice, (though she very seldom followed it).

Community

‘But it’s no use now,’ thought poor Alice, ‘to pretend to be two people! Why, there’s hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!’

Marketing

‘But it’s no use now,’ thought poor Alice, ‘to pretend to be two people! Why, there’s hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!’

Advertising

Soon her eye fell on a little glass box that was lying under the table: she opened it, and found in it a very small cake, on which the words ‘EAT ME’ were beautifully marked in currants.

Happy Clients

‘Well, I’ll eat it,’ said Alice, ‘and if it makes me grow larger, I can reach the key; and if it makes me grow smaller, I can creep under the door; so either way I’ll get into the garden, and I don’t care which happens!’

Four Years Strong!

She ate a little bit, and said anxiously to herself, ‘Which way? Which way?’, holding her hand on the top of her head to feel which way it was growing, and she was quite surprised to find that she remained the same size.

What My Clients Think

  • I can safely say that this has been the year I’ve been the least prepared for Christmas, ever. Wrapping paper is still in full rolls, the tree has only been up for around 48 hours, and we only just got food today (and had a bit of an upset when there was no Buck’s Fizz left – Christmas dinner without Buck’s Fizz? Nuh uh!)

But that blind panic when you realise you haven’t bought all of your presents? That’s the worst, right?

Luckily, each and every year, Baylis & Harding release the most beautiful gift sets at wonderfully affordable prices. And yes, they are my saviour. In fact, they’re my go-to gift sets not just at Christmas but all year round.

They’re always presented in the most wonderful way – the toy soldier designs this year have totally won me over – and the inner contents are always divine too. The strawberry candy cane body wash was a particular standout for me and the smell reminds me of strawberry jelly. The products may smell good enough to eat, but I suggest you don’t try it…

The sets are even more exciting because a few of them come with something a little extra to accompany the beauty products – slippers, eye masks, flannels and more. Just look at that water bottle cover in my photos. Adorable, right?

With Baylis & Harding available to buy from a number of places such as Superdrug, Boots and even Amazon, I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for some more gift sets I can treat myself to in the New Year sales. 😉

What do you think of Baylis & Harding gift sets? Do you find them as handy as I do?

*I received the samples in the photos for free but I genuinely am a fan – and yes, I have bought a fair few sets myself that are ready to be wrapped. 😊🎄

  • TOMMYXGIGI Collection

I’m sure everyone out there has heard of Gigi Hadid by now. (And if you haven’t where have you been?!) She’s an absolute stunner, super stylish, effortlessly cool and a hugely successful model. And she made an appearance as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race. #Goals.

Now the 21 year old beauty has one more achievement under her belt: she’s collaborated with the legendary Tommy Hilfiger to design the new #TOMMYXGIGI AW16/17 range inspired by nautical themes and fashion pieces Gigi would wear out and about.

The collection is a navy-white medley of sailor shorts, embellishments, striped sweaters, double breasted jackets, oversized knitwear and printed dresses, all of which can be combined and layered to create an abundance of effortlessly chic day to day looks.

Gigi Hadid wearing the new Tommy Hilfiger collection

Despite being reluctant to leave summer behind, this collection has definitely got me ready for cosy winter jackets, neutral chunky knits and autumn layers

Sadly, I’m not the sort of girl who can just buy designer clothing on a whim. Hey ho, the joys of being a newly graduated mathematician still on the hunt for a full time job or a lottery win. A girl can dream, right? I can, however, window shop and admire, and so instead I set myself a challenge: if I was given £1,500 to spend on the collection, what would I choose?

    1. Long Military Wool Coat Gigi Hadid – £330
    2. Nautical Backpack Gigi Hadid – £155
    3. Mini Handbag Gigi Hadid – £145
    4. Nautical Long Tea Dress – £460
    5. Printed Silk Maxi Dress Gigi Hadid – £290

After a total imaginary spend of £1,380, I think I managed to get quite an assortment in there, don’t you? The woolen coat with it’s trench style shoulder/sleeve straps and waist belt is a perfect staple jacket to see you through the winter, whilst the long tea dress and silk maxi dress can carry you through the summer/autumn weather switchover with an effortlessly chic, boho look. With a cute backpack to carry your everyday essentials around and a mini bag to see you through to the night time, this selection would be a perfect start to your Autumn/Winter collection.

Now why not check out the rest of the #TOMMYXGIGI collection by clicking here?

What do you think of the new Tommy Hilfiger collection? I’d love to know which piece is your favourite!

I first discovered hair dye back in primary school when my mum started using semi-permanent boxes on her hair, and so, of course, I wanted a go as well. Since then I’ve been through a lot of the rainbow – blonde, red, blue, pink, brown, black, purple, highlights, ombré – but now that I am back to red (all done professionally nowadays, of course), I’ve started to notice some things that I couldn’t quite remember from before…

    1. Wearing red on red is scary. I mean, red is an awesome colour to rock, especially on a night out, but now that my hair is red, I’m worried I end up looking a bit obsessed. Or maybe I’ll look like I’m in fancy dress as a giant tomato? I dunno.

    2. Evo Fabuloso is my best friend. If you don’t know what this is, it’s a coloured conditioner which enhances your colour (or can change your colour for about three or four washes – I used it for dip dyes when I was blonde!). I can’t live without it now because my hair looks so fabulous after being washed with this – hence the name!

    3. My shower sometimes looks like a murder scene. I’m quite a clumsy and messy person naturally, I seriously can’t help it. So when I’m using my Fabuloso conditioner (which is very red by the way), I manage to splash it every where from the shower doors, the tiles, and even sometimes the ceiling. When I forget to clean it up (okay, when I’m maybe too lazy), my shower may look like a murder scene to whoever goes in next.

    4. I don’t need a Lush bath bomb to turn the water pink. My hair does that job just fine, though obviously without the glorious smell and skin conditioning benefits. Whether it be a bath or a shower, the water is guaranteed to have a tinge of pink to it. And I like it. It’s kinda cute.

    5. Wrapping white towels on my head isn’t a good idea. Yes, not only does the water turn pink, but my towels do too. And it drives my mum batty. So much so, in fact, that she has bought me my very own special red towel to wrap around my head. She’s a good’un!

    6. What I thought was red is no longer red enough. When I first went to red, it was from blonde, and so I went for a subtle kind of red. My hairdresser was adamant that I would end up wanting it more vibrant, and lo and behold, I wanted it redder when I went for a top colour. And then redder. And now? I want it redder again.

    7. My hairdressers are the best. No matter what colour I get, my hairdressers do an amaaaazing job. I seriously would trust them to do anything and everything to my hair, and know it’s going to look fabulous. Going to get my hair done is no longer a chore, and I could happily stay in the salon all day with them. (I think my record so far is about 8 hours?)

Have you been a redhead before and experienced any of this? Let me know!

7 things I’ve noticed since becoming a redhead

  • When it comes to skincare, I have to confess: I’m not very dedicated. I’m a bit of a bog standard cleanse and moisturise kind of girl. I tone occasionally and will do the odd exfoliating mask, but anything else is usually new territory to me.

Okay, sometimes I don’t even cleanse and moisturise. I go for the baby wipe. There. I said it. 😳

Recently, however, I’ve been trying a couple of new products, and I’m totally digging them. (And I’m trying to up my skincare game, I swear!) You may have seen recently that I reviewed a SKN-RG product and really liked it. Well, today I have another skincare product I want to introduce you to from True North which I have completely fallen in love with. 😍

True North De-Stressed Serum* is a lightweight moisturising gel-serum that is said to infuse the skin with deep hydration whilst soothing and regenerating. It comes in simple white packaging that immediately gives the product a sleek, high-end feel to it.

It comes in a pump action bottle which is always a positive – easy to use, controls how much you dispense, and is hygienic too!

I’m rubbish at describing smells, but this smells beautiful. Seriously, the smell won me over as soon as I used it for the first time. It’s a lovely, clean, fresh scent.

After applying the serum, it did feel a tad tacky on my skin for about a minute of so, but once soaked in, my skin felt amazing. It was instantly smoothed and my colour appeared more even.

The instructions say to use the True North De-Stressed Serum* prior to moisturising, but I’ve been using it occasionally before makeup as a primer as well for a smooth base.

A little blob goes a long way with this product, and so one bottle should keep you going for months. Sadly, at £62.00, it’s still out of my price range for little old part-timer me, but if it falls in yours, I’d definitely recommend it. 😊

What skincare products have you been using lately? Do you always stick to your skincare routine?

True North De-Stressed Serum 4.1 Review

  •

Before being sent this product to review, I had never come across SKN-RG before, so of course, I did my research, and was pretty pleased with the info I found.

SKN-RG is an organic skincare brand which, after years of research and discovery, was founded by Robert and Deborah Scott. Using natural ingredients combined with scientific advances, they have created a wide range of organic products for numerous skin concerns.

I was sent the Ultra Marine Collagen Creme* and immediately fell in love with the packaging. The creme comes in a sleek red box and is presented in a classy glass and metallic tube which gives a high end look to the product.

Taking the lid off revealed a pump action bottle, which is brilliant as it helps control how much you use, makes it very easy to dispense the creme and, of course, is hygienic – yey!

When using the product for the first time, the first thing I noticed was the smell – I can’t describe the scent other than it reminded me of the few times I’ve been to a spa and have been pampered with luxury, high end, organic products!

The Ultra Marine Collagen Creme* is from the anti-ageing range, and though I don’t have any wrinkles yet (I hope!), it can’t hurt to fight the signs of ageing early and keep the plumped, youthful glow whilst I can.

Whilst it takes a couple of weeks of using this product to see drastic results, I did notice some difference in my skin after just one day. After applying the product my skin looked more even and smooth, and I definitely had a glow to my face!

Another bonus is that despite having incredibly sensitive skin, I didn’t flare up once. Result!

Sadly, the Ultra Marine Collagen Creme* is out of my price range at £65, though I must stress that a little does go a long way with this product, and so it will probably last a lot longer than you might think. 🙂

Have you heard of SKN-RG before? What’s your go to skincare brand at the moment?

*I was sent this product in exchange for a review but all views are my own!

  • Summer is just around the corner, and I have plenty of events coming up – three holidays, my graduation and two weddings – all of which I have to find some gorgeous dresses for. After stumbling across Maje, a brand I’d not previously heard of, I fell in love with four fabulous dresses that would be just perfect. The downside? They’re pretty far out of my price range, and I can’t afford a single one. The upside? Maje happen to be running a competition to win £500 to spend. Yes please!

Click here if you would like to enter the competition too!

    1. Jacquard Knit Long Dress – £290 – Maje

    2. Ridged Knit Dress – £315 – Maje

    3. Long Lace Guipure Dress – £269 – Maje

The bottom two dresses in particular give me major loveheart eyes. 😍 Let me know what you think of my choices, and don’t forget to enter the competition yourself for a chance to win… and don’t forget me if you do. 😉

    Lusting After Coconut Lane Luxe

  • You may have seen that recently I was lucky enough to attend a blogger event at the York Lush store, where not only were we lucky enough to view the new Spring range in action with some fab demonstrations, but we also had the chance to win prizes. And as if that wasn’t enough, each blogger was lucky enough to take home a goodie bag with four spectacular products, so today I’m gonna talk you though everything I brought home with me that night, from my incredible freebies to my impulse buys.

I’ll start by taking you through the wonderful goodie bag we each received. Firstly, we each got a small bottle of the Yummy Mummy shower gel* which we were lucky enough to witness in action at the event. It has a refreshing smell which isn’t too overpowering, and only a small amount was needed to create a lather.

We also received the incredibly sparkly Golden Egg*, which is making a return after it’s success last year. It’s so fantastically glittery that it’s hard not to love it immediately, and I know from experience just how lovely this bath bomb/bath melt hybrid is. It smells amazing and leaves a fabulous sparkle effect on your skin (meaning we can forgive it for also leaving us with an incredibly glittery bath!).

Another product to make it’s return was the Somewhere Over the Rainbow soap*. I didn’t get chance to try this last year, so I’m super excited to have received it this year. It has a marvellous shimmery effect and has such a lovely fresh, fruity scent.

The final product to come out of the goodie bag was yet another returning star – the Bunch of Carrots bubble bar*. This came complete with a new look (hello purple and pink carrots!) but has the same wonderful bubbliest bubble making skills.

Throughout the event, we all uploaded a photo to Instagram in a race to get the most likes so that we could be the lucky winner of an exclusive Lush Spa Gift Set*. After badgering all of my friends and followers and asking them to spread to the word, I was lucky enough to have received the most likes when the time came, and so I came home with this stunning gift box*.

Stored inside the beautiful tiered box is Dreamtime Temple Balm, Golden Slumbers, Full of Grace, Peace and Big Blue, all of which make for an incredible pamper evening followed by a deep state of ultimate relaxation. I’m particularly looking forward to trying the Dreamtime Temple Balm and letting it’s lavender oils work their magic on me and put my overactive mind at rest.

Aside from all of the fun and games throughout the night, we were also let loose to buy any other bits from the Spring range that took our fancy and stock up on some old favourites. Naturally, I went a bit mad and spent way more than I should have done (but it was so totally worth it!).

The first thing I grabbed (after finding the prettiest, most aesthetically pleasing one on the shelf) was a Unicorn Horn bubble bar, swiftly followed by a Dragon’s Egg bath bomb and a Honey Bee bath bomb.

I also treat myself to three bath bombs from the Spring range. Fluffy Egg made it’s return and since it smells exactly like Snow Fairy, I simply couldn’t resist. I was also won over by the beautiful fragrance of the Rose Bombshell, before finally agreeing to take home Humpty Dumpty after he gave me sinsiter looks all night.

Finally, whilst at the till, I swiftly grabbed a Flowering Tea bubble bar completely on impulse. Whilst it’s not the brightest or most exciting of products, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the subtle floral scents.

Obviously I went home with a lighter purse but with a big smile on my face, and I can’t wait to get stuck into the products.

Have you tried any of the Spring range this year? Let me know your favourites!

A Lush Spring Goodie Bag and Haul

  • Once again, Spring is upon us, and with Spring comes a new range of wonderfully colourful Lush products. The store in York took this as an opportunity to have their very first blogger event to which a few lucky bloggers were invited (yes, even little old me!). I had an incredible time at the Lush Hull event last year, so when Lush York contacted me to invite me to a fun-filled night of bath bombs, luscious scents and great company, how on earth could I refuse?!

After catching the train to York, the evening didn’t get off to the smoothest of starts as I found myself pacing around York with no clue where to go. Trusty Google maps was not so trusty that night! Luckily, with the help of the Lush staff and my friend Charlotte, I was located and guided to the event where the Lush staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and I instantly felt at ease.

We were quickly thrown into the fun as we played with Fun (and yes, it was fun), and attempted to make something inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Whilst I put together a slightly fat faced rabbit, people around me created beautiful top hats, toadstools, cats and more, which made for a bright array of art. Yes, we’re allowed to call it art!

Throughout the sculpting session, each of us uploaded an Instagram
photo in a race to receive the most likes and win a prize. Whilst we
eagerly waited, we were introduced to one another over some nibbles and drinks before taking a look at everyone’s creations.

After having a little giggle at the fun figures, the ice was well and truly broken, and we were then introduced to the vibrant new gift sets that
    graced the shelves
. I wanted to take each and every one home, though
unfortunately my bank balance wouldn’t allow it.

After swooning over the bright, colourful shelves of wonderfulness, we began stopping at different stations around the store to view bits and pieces of the Spring, Easter and Mother’s Day products in action. I can safely say I fell more and more in love with the collection as I witnessed each vibrant demonstration.

I was super excited to see the Golden Egg make it’s return, along with the Bunch of Carrots, which returned with a new multi-coloured look. We also spent a bit of time debating whether Humpty Dumpty was a cute little chap or a small sinister egg. I’ll let you guys decide, but he must have won me over because the little fella came home with me!

After all of the bright demonstrations, the fun games and the gorgeous smells making their way into our happy noses, we were all left feeling hyped up and pretty much looking like the love heart eyes emoji. The winner of the Instagram competition was announced (it was me guys – my followers did me proud!), and we were the let loose in the shop to browse the stock a little closer, have some personal chats with the staff, and spend our pennies. I did a lot of the latter, but you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled for what I bought in another post!

As if all of that wasn’t enough, each and every blogger was handed a goodie bag as they sipped the rest of their drinks, gathered their things and said their goodbyes. I’m going to keep the contents of the bag to myself until I write my Lush York haul post, but I can tell you one thing – they were pretty bloody awesome.

I’d like to say a humongous thank you to the Lush girls for being so flippin’ marvellous and putting on a cracking evening for us all. I felt so at ease and had a truly fab night with some wonderful bloggers.

I’d love to know which of the Spring products are your favourite. Let me know in the comments below! ツ

What would I buy if I were to win £150 to spend at Brand Attic?

  • Hello guy and gals! Let me introduce you to these beautiful brushes which are now a beauty must-have for me. I first stumbled across these little babies after receiving one in my #HBAlPorto goodie bag last year, and after getting another two in different designs, Tangle Angels have quickly become some of my favourite detanglers (and let me tell you, my hair does get hella tangley).

The first thing you’ll notice is the gorgeous design of these brushes. Each one is shaped like the back of an angel, with a beautiful wing design, and a sleek handle which allows you to stand the brush up on your dressing table to really show it off. You can hold this brush in two ways – firstly, you can use the handle to hold it as you would a standard paddle brush, or you can instead grasp around the wings for a more controlled grip.

So, aside from the beautiful design, what else is so special about these brushes? Well, for starters, they are great for your hair as they are both antibacterial and anti-static. But best of all? They’re water resistant and heat resistant. So yes girls, you can use these safely with a hairdryer! Look no further for a brush that can combat tangles whilst you blow dry, because this is the one.

The Tangle Angel comes in numerous designs with varying functions (you can even get them for your fluffbutt pets!), and I am lucky enough to own the standard Tangle Angel*, a Tangle Cherub*, and the super cute Tangle Angel Baby*.

The standard Tangle Angel* (RRP £14.95) measures just under 19cm in height and is the largest version I own. I keep this one in my bedroom for every day use and it’s my new best friend when I’m drying my hair – no more switching brushes!

The Tangle Cherub* (RRP £9.95) is simply a smaller version of the Tangle Angel, measuring just short of 15cm. I make the most of the smaller size by using this as my handbag brush. It comes with me everywhere for when I’m in need of a detangle.

Finally, this cutie is the Tangle Angel Baby* (RRP £3.95). It measures a petite 8cm and comes with a keyring on it. I keep this on my house key which means I always have it handy when I’m on a night out or out for a meal with a smaller bag that can’t quite squeeze in my Tangle Cherub.

The Tangle Angel is a definite contender when it comes to rivalling the Tangle Teezer, and though I won’t be throwing out my Teezer any time soon, I’ve started started having Tangle Angels by my side dailyAnd now you can too!

You could win yourself a standard Tangle Angel and a Tangle Angel Baby with Beauty, Books and Babble, and I have 5 pairs to giveaway (colours may vary!). The giveaways close at midnight on Sun 7th Feb, and it’s open to the UK only – sorry! There are three ways to enter:

    1. Two winners will be selected on Twitter. Simply follow @ashtongibbs and @tangleangel, and retweet this competition tweet.
    2. One winner will be selected on Facebook. Just like my page, Beauty, Books and Babble, like this competition post, and then share it so your friends can join in too!
    3. Finally, two winners will be selected using the Rafflecopter widget below. Submit as many entries as you can and keep your fingers crossed!
