Tell Tale Signs You're Becoming a Crazy Cat Lady

Nowadays you don’t have to look far to come across something cat related in every day life. It’s not hard to stumble upon a cat website, cat clothing, cat homeware, cat TV shows. Cats, cats, cats, cats, cats. And it’s awesome. My cat obsession began years ago when my family took in a stray, who is now known to the world as Minnie Moo. She’s fat (like reeeeally fat). She’s evil. She’s miserable. She’s a rubbish cat. But she’s my baby and I wouldn’t have her any other way. If you’re looking forward to reading this post, something tells me…

Please Don't Leave Me Here – Tania Chandler: Book Review + Blog Tour

From the outside, Brigette seems like a regular woman – happily married, beautiful children and a career she enjoys. But Brigette isn’t normal, because Brigette can’t remember anything about her life before 1994. All she knows is that the same day the car struck her and her memory went missing, a man was found dead in her apartment. In 2008, the case still remains unsolved, but when the story of the girl with memory loss and the dead man begins to surface again, Brigette and the people around her start to ask themselves a question: is she really an ordinary,…

#HBAlPorto Lush Goodies Haul

As most of you probably know, since I haven’t stopped wittering on about it, I attended a Hull Bloggers meet a couple of weeks ago (which was brilliant, by the way!) and one of the stalls that set up there was the colourful array that is Lush Hull. Not only were they spoiling us with demonstrations and pampering, they’d also brought along tonnes of their products so that we could treat ourselves, and they even provided each of us with a goodie bag with three products. Yes! Three Lush products for free! So today I’m going to run you through…

Food, friends and goodies galore at #HBAlPorto

Image credit :: Al Porto It’s been one whole week now since the Hull Bloggers August meet at Al Porto restaurant on the Hull Marina, and even as I’m typing this out, I can feel a smile starting to form on my face as I think back to the wonderful day. My day began with a nervous me running around like a headless chicken trying to get ready, and when I realised I was running late (shock horror!) I felt ready to have a panic attack. Not good. Luckily I had the wonderful Kate just a text away with plenty of…

Travelers – Meradeth Houston: Book Review + Blog Tour

Sienna comes from a family of Travelers who have the incredible ability to jump through time, providing they stick to a set of rules that ensure history remains as it should be, deaths take their natural course, and the future isn’t altered. Sienna has always stuck to the rules, even when her heart was torn apart by the death of her boyfriend, Henry. But when her best friend and his sister, Joan, bends the rules of Travelers in order to bring him back to life, Sienna’s past and everyone involved in it is erased, and Joan seems to stop at…

One Week Countdown to #HBAlPorto

If you follow me on Twitter you have more than likely seen me raving on enthusiastically about an event I’m going to, using the hashtag #HBAlPorto. Well, the event is a fun filled meet up for bloggers from Hull and the surrounding area, and today marks the one week countdown! Needless to say, I have been getting more excited by the day, and although I’m super nervous (I always get so anxious and worried when I have to meet new people, and haven’t been to a blogger event since the Lush Easter event!), my excitement is definitely beginning to far…

We Are All Made of Stars: Book Review

“If there’s one thing I’ve learnt while I’ve been working the night shift at Marie Francis it’s that this is the one thing that sets us apart from other animals, the one thing that makes us human. Hope.” We Are All Made of Stars* is the beautifully written and heartfelt story of several characters, all of whom are facing their own fears whilst grasping on to hope that things can get better. Though the synopsis only mentions Stella’s story, we see snippets from the point of view of Hugh, a young guy whose girlfriend recently left him leaving nothing behind…

Pretty Puzzles Books You Need in Your Life

I, like so many others out there in the world of blogging, cannot resist cute stationery, especially notebooks. Well, I actually can’t resist anything remotely pretty, I’m not just limited to stationery! So imagine my excitement when I came across these beautiful little puzzle books whilst I was out and about in town last week. They were (very strategically!) placed right next to the tills, so how on earth could I not pick up one or two? Or three or four? Okay. Five. I picked up five. They were from The Works (you can also buy online!) and they stocked…
