Book Review + Giveaway: Holy Cow by David Duchovny

★★★★✩ I would like to start with a massive thank you to Headline Publishing who sent me this book via Bookbridgr in exchange for an honest review. I gave this book a nice, meaty 4 stars! Holy Cow follows the story of Elsie Bovary, who starts the tale as an ordinary, happy cow who spends her days being milked, eating grass, and chatting with her BFF. However, everything changes for Elsie one night when she sneaks from her pasture and finds herself drawn to the farmhouse. Through the window, she sees the family gathered around what can only be a…

Book Review: Fragile Lies by Laura Elliot

★★★✩✩+ A huge thank you to Bookouture. They sent me a copy of this in exchange for an honest review. I gave this book 3.5 stars! “Love and hate. Two sides of a damaged coin.“ Fragile Lies is a story based around the love, betrayal and their consequences in relationships that occur behind closed doors. When an illicit love affair tears apart Lorraine’s marriage, she finds herself uprooting her teenage daughter and moving to different scenery. Swapping her bustling city centre town for a home in a seaside village, Lorraine finds herself struggling to forget the past, whilst her daughter…

Sophie and Suze's NetGalley Challenge

I was always one of these people that refused to purchase an eReader. I believed in sticking to the real thing, and always purchasing paperback instead. However, since I’ve started book blogging, authors and publishers have offered to send me eBook ARCs to review, and how on earth could I possibly resist? So, just last week, my dad surprised me by coming home with a Kindle Fire for me. Turns out, I’m bloody in love with it. I mean, I can read with the light off meaning I don’t have to jump out of bed when I’m ready to sleep,…

Thank you so much. I will be using Emily’s post for now, since hers is more recent. 🙂 What are the rules? Link the person that nominated you. Answer all the questions given. Nominate 11 other blogs with less than…

Book Review: Horns – Joe Hill

★★★★★ After seeing the trailer for the movie adaptation of Horns, I naturally made the decision to read the book before watching the film, and after hearing nothing but good things about it from my brother, I couldn’t wait to get stuck in. Horns follows the story of Ignatius Perrish, who is living in his very own hell where his childhood sweetheart and long-term girlfriend, Merrin, has been murdered, and despite the lack of evidence, Ig is the prime suspect, and everyone in his town believes he did it. When Ig wakes up one morning with an aching head, a stinking…

Taking a Break with Forest Holidays

Just after New Year, I went away for a week with my family and boyfriend to stay in a Forest Holidays cabin. It’s the second time I’ve had a break with them and both times I have been over the moon. They have nine idyllic locations for you to get away to and plenty of extras you can add to your luxurious woodland cabin stay. The cabins are truly wonderful, and there’s plenty to do whilst you’re away (though I spent most days in my onesie with a book and some food!). The reception area hold quizzes with cash prizes,…
